Nimbus Quick is becoming the Mac command center.

The first Nimbus Quick post covered the basics: press Option-Space, type or speak, and route the command to the right part of Nimbus. The latest work expands that idea. Quick is now closer to a command center for everyday Mac work.

Start with the shortcuts

Quick opens with Option-Space by default. The microphone shortcut defaults to Option-M. Both can be changed in Settings → Nimbus Quick → Keyboard shortcuts. If macOS refuses a shortcut or another Quick action already uses it, Nimbus tells you instead of silently failing.

Turn on Launch at Login if you want Quick, global shortcuts, clipboard monitoring, and the menu bar ready without opening the main Nimbus window first.

Use Quick without breaking focus

Quick is designed for small tasks from wherever you already are. You can summarize the clipboard, translate selected text, ask Gale about the current selection, search local files, open a saved quicklink, run a snippet, calculate, or start dictation without switching into a full app window.

The Mac menu bar now exposes the same everyday actions: open Quick, start dictation, summarize the clipboard, translate the clipboard, ask about selected text, open Nimbus modules, open Settings, and quit Nimbus8.

Regional search feels more natural

Google, Amazon, YouTube, GitHub, and Perplexity remain global commands. Quick now also promotes shopping providers that match your Mac language and region. That means Shopee and Lazada can appear higher in Thailand, Flipkart and Meesho in India, Rakuten and Mercari in Japan, Coupang in Korea, Mercado Libre in Latin America, and similar local options elsewhere.

The ranking is a convenience layer, not a lock. You can still type a provider name directly from any region.

Route to the model you actually picked

Quick now follows your selected Nimbus models more closely. If you picked a Gale model in the app, Quick uses that for Gale answers instead of guessing. The same idea applies to Mist search, Ashe handoffs, and dictation routes. Advanced users can still override individual Quick routes in Settings.

Mirage from Quick

Quick can now hand image and video prompts to Mirage when the setting is enabled. It uses the standard Mirage composer path rather than the advanced node graph, so it is meant for quick generations: describe the image, choose the action, and let Mirage handle the model and runtime details.

What to try first

  • Press Option-Space, type summarize clipboard, and run it after copying a paragraph.
  • Type amazon usb c hub, shopee keyboard, or your local provider name to search directly.
  • Press Option-M and dictate into the current app.
  • Type a short image idea and send it to Mirage from Quick.

Quick is still intentionally compact. It should feel like a fast command surface, not another desktop to manage.
