Acceptance
By installing or using Nimbus8 ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use the app. These terms are a contract between you and the team that publishes Nimbus8 ("we", "us").
Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the App Store's usage rules. We retain all other rights in the app itself.
You may not: reverse-engineer the app, resell it, redistribute it as your own work, or strip attribution from bundled open-source components.
Acceptable use
Nimbus8 is a general-purpose tool. You are responsible for what you do with it. In particular, you agree not to use the app to:
- Produce content that violates the rights of others (including IP, privacy, and publicity rights).
- Generate or distribute content that sexualizes minors, incites violence, or is unlawful where you are.
- Impersonate a real person in a manner designed to deceive.
- Attempt to compromise the security of a device or service you do not control.
Because the app runs on your device, we have no ability to monitor or prevent any of the above. Responsibility sits with you.
Open-source models
Nimbus8 lets you download open-source models from third-party catalogs (primarily Hugging Face). Each model is distributed under its own license — sometimes permissive (MIT, Apache), sometimes restrictive (Llama Community, non-commercial, no-derivatives). When you download a model, you agree to the terms of that model's license.
We surface the license in the model detail view before you install. We do not rehost or modify these models.
Agents & automation
Ashe (our agent runtime) can be configured to run scheduled tasks ("hands") and invoke tools. Every destructive action — writes to disk, network requests, file moves — requires an explicit per-run confirmation by default. You can enable unattended runs at your own risk; in that case you accept responsibility for the actions the agent takes.
Your content
You own what you put into the app. We don't claim any rights over your chats, your prompts, or your files. We don't have access to them — they're in the app's iOS sandbox on your device.
When a model generates output for you, that output is yours to use as you see fit, subject to the underlying model's license where applicable.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, the Nimbus8 name and logo, and the module brand names (Gale, Cirrus, Ashe, Mist, Stratus, Overture, Haze, Zephyr) are ours. Don't use them to imply endorsement, affiliation, or authorship of other products without permission.
No warranty
The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that model outputs are accurate, safe, or fit for a particular purpose. Treat every generation as a draft that deserves review — especially for anything consequential.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Termination
You can terminate these terms at any time by uninstalling the app. We can terminate or suspend access if you materially breach these terms — although, because the app runs locally, practical enforcement is limited to declining future support or updates.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update the effective date above and note the change in the changelog. Continuing to use the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the publishing entity is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you reside.
