bora Coming soon · Mac · iPhone · iPad

A real browser. Local AI when you ask.

bora is built as a standalone Apple app—not a browser-shaped chat window. Browse with familiar controls, then bring in Gale to understand one page or compare several, with page access kept visible and under your control.

Built from the product

This page reflects bora’s native iOS and macOS code today—real controls, real privacy boundaries, and real local-model flows.

Browser fundamentals

The AI never gets to skip the browser part.

bora starts with the things you expect to work every day, then adds intelligence as an optional layer you can see, open, close, and disable.

01

Tabs that behave like tabs

Normal and private tabs, restored sessions, recently closed tabs, Gale chats, and up to 100 open tabs on iPhone and iPad.

02

The library is built in

History, bookmarks, downloads, find in page, page zoom, website details, and clearing browser data are part of the native chrome.

iOS · macOS
03

Private means a separate data boundary

Private tabs use WebKit’s nonpersistent website data store. Private Gale conversations and page captures stay out of normal session history.

Controls fit the device

Share sheets, mobile or desktop site requests, touch-sized controls, keyboard commands, printing, and native menus appear where each Apple platform expects them.

Platform native
Apple native

One browser, shaped for every screen.

The same browsing and Gale concepts are implemented separately for touch and desktop, using SwiftUI and WebKit throughout.

macOSDesktop workspace

Room for work and context.

Keep Gale in a resizable side panel or open it as a full tab. Organize tabs into workspaces, compare captured sources, use keyboard commands, and manage local models without leaving the browser.

  • Workspaces and optional encrypted sync
  • Side-panel and full-tab Gale
  • Page zoom, printing, downloads, recovery
iPhone + iPadTouch-first browser

Compact on iPhone. Side by side on iPad.

Gale opens as a native sheet on compact screens and beside the page on iPad. The browser includes system sharing, content-mode controls, accessible 44-point targets, and device-aware website rendering.

  • Native sheets, menus, and share controls
  • Automatic, desktop, or mobile site view
  • Theme controls and local model browser
Permission before context

Gale reads a page only when you bring it in.

Web content is treated as untrusted input. bora keeps access explicit, shows what is attached, and prevents normal and private contexts from crossing.

1

Allow

Choose whether Gale can read the current website.

2

Attach

Capture one page or select several tabs to compare.

3

Ask locally

Run the conversation with an available on-device model.

AI is optional. Turn bora AI off and the browser remains a browser. No Gale panel, no page captures, no forced assistant layer.
